Flange Repair
A unique Polymer Systems LTD Distributor was approached after a routine inspection at a UK steel Manufacture found cracks on a cast iron cool main water line, rather than replace with new equipment, Unique Polymer Systems LTD recommended a plate to be bonded around the flange face with the gaps filled with UPS 105 EG Metal Repair Paste
The cooler water main was running relatively low pressures, ensuring that erosion to any repair would be minimal. The Unique Polymer Systems LTD contractor took measurement of the flanges faces and manufactured a plate to fit around the flange.

The affected area was blast cleaned and coated with UPS 105 EG Metal Repair Paste and the plate clamped into position, Following on from this contract Unique Polymer Systems LTD has been asked to quote for other repair work in the UK plant.
Application Details;
The affected area was a cleaned using abrasive blast cleaning (angled grit) to sa2 1/2, 75 microns profile.
UPS 105 EG Metal Repair Paste was applied to the flange faces and affected area.

The pro- formed steel was coated with UPS 105 EG Metal Repair Paste. The formed steel was then bolted into a position and the epoxy repair paste allowed to cure. Any excess material was wiped away.
